Make sure you buy an extended warranty
By Pilot_Reviewer | on Tuesday, July 16, 2019
The 5th Honda in our family and 3rd Pilot, and unfortunately our last. Despite great styling, lots of good features (which requires the ‘Elite’ model), very comfortable ride, and surprisingly good fuel economy, that legendary Japanese reliability has clearly faded. At just over 50K miles the fuel injectors needed replacing - a $1500 repair if we hadn’t bought the $1700 extended warranty, and at just over 60K miles the A/C compressor failed (on a boiling hot day while we were out of state of course) which was a $2000 repair without the warranty.… - 2.0
Popping Noise
By EÂ |Â on Monday, April 27, 2020
Honda needs to figure out there infotainment problem. Loud popping and crackle noise from the speakers sounds like the windshield is cracking. Does it with the radio and climate control off or on. Completely annoying and Honda does not have a solution. The noise is LOUD, not enjoyable to drive in. Do not recommend… - 1.0
DONT BUY THIS CAR
By Mr JÂ |Â on Friday, October 09, 2020
This car is currently involved in a class action lawsuit for the Infotainment system. This system controls the radio, DVD player, map system and basically all of the entertainment features in the vehicle. It experiences cracking and popping noises over the speakers, the system shuts down randomly, turns off DVDs or even shuts off all sound in the car. Honda has known about this problem since 2019 and even with all the problems, still continues to sell the car. After we started having these problems we took it to the dealership 5 times for them to try and fix it. After that failed the dealership told us we needed to work with American Honda to get them to buy it back. After weeks of talking with American Honda we were finally told, "Honda management did not feel that it impedes the vehicle from being operating outside of this CONVENIENCE FEATURE and the vehicle is able to perform its main function. American Honda does not feel that the repurchase of the vehicle is merited at this time." This system was the sole reason we decided to purchase the Honda Pilot over the Toyota Highlander. No, I'm not kidding. They admitted that the vehicle is defective and they can't fix it but no they aren't going to buy it back. I went into the purchase of this car thinking Honda has a great reputation for quality and planned on owning the car for at least 10 years. I expect a company to stand behind their product and honor their warranty in good faith. I will NEVER, EVER consider purchasing another Honda product as long as I live.…
